Facebook and G+, threat to the online dating industry?!

It has been on going for weeks, the battle between Facebook and G+ to bring out the best user-experience in social networking. A lot has been said and done and with the innovative features that they both have, has it been detrimental in the online dating industry?

I can't speak on behalf of the industry but for start-ups like HueSpotLove, there has been a lot of concerns pertaining to some of the features that these social networking sites offer. Video chat and video commenting is not new in the online dating industry, surprisingly few people knew about this and when these big players (Facebook and G+) launched these features to their social networking site, some users were in awe, a lot have embraced it and thank them and treat them as the social networking Gods. :D This thought lead us to something deeper, we shouldn't be scared nor threatened because the answer to the question why everyone does not know about video chat being in existence for years now is this, simply because not everyone goes to dating sites.

Niche marketing will never be a cliche specially in the online dating industry. While Facebook is putting a stake on the ground on social media marketing, G+ on the other hand is  making itself known to have a slick platform in conducting business and networking all at the same time. Their market will always be diverse yet it will never affect the online dating enthusiasts and users; these users would always want to be where they are comfortable admitting to themselves and opening up to someone that they're hoping and looking to meet that special someone someday via the web. Despite the increasingly number of fraud users, some still feels more secure  meeting someone online first before moving further with dating face-to-face and eventually go deeper with the relationship.

Facebook and G+ is an awakening of how the online world is quickly evolving through time and if we want to be ahead, we need to step up our game. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving Day!!!

Ever wonder how Thanksgiving started? Well me too. I didn't really care much before but just know we spend this day with our special someone.

Here's an excerpt from http://www.holidaycook.com/thanksgiving-history.shtml , hope you'll find this document pretty interesting and informative.

"Thanksgiving itself is reminiscent of other harvest-time celebrations in Europe. It's character there as well as in America is deeply religious. The idea is that we thank God for the plenty of the harvest. Of course, over the years the holiday has been secularized somewhat. It is even commonly called "Turkey Day".
The first Thanksgiving in Plymouth was not meant to be an annual event. Even so, it became a custom in many New England Colonies. During the Revolutionary war Thanksgiving Days were proclaimed to celebrate victory in battle or survival in the face of adversity. After the war and the founding of the government under the U.S. Constitution, George Washington, as President, proclaimed a day of thanks.

Proclaiming a day of thanks became popular. There was no official national day, but individual states, cities and towns began to pick out a particular day every year, usually in the autumn. The state of New York was the first to do this in 1830. By the time of the Civil War thanksgiving had become a popular public event. In 1863 and 1864 President Lincoln proclaimed the last Thursday in November as a "day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father."

It was at this point that the last Thursday in November became fixed in the minds of Americans as a day for giving thanks, at least until 1939 when President Roosevelt moved it up a week to make a longer Christmas season for the retail industry. Some people did not like the break with tradition and various localities refused to comply. Finally, Congress intervened and changed the holiday permanently to the "4th Thursday in November". It has been celebrated on this day ever since. "
Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone!!!

What's your Hue?

Compatibility is defined as a feeling of sympathetic understanding, capable of existing or performing in harmonious or congenial combination with another individual. There are different meanings of compatibility, depending on which aspect, no one can really identify who and what is compatible for you in terms of having or being in a relationship. And this is one thing that most of the dating site promises, that they could identify for you. At Huespotlove we just tell you what color personality share the same values with yours and suggest giving it a try to interact, communicate and give yourself a chance to spot your match.

So go ahead, register and know what's your hue and what color personality you share the same values with.
